United Way of Elgin-St. Thomas is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is made up of 15 citizens drawn from all walks of life including labour, business and professional. The Board is elected by members at an Annual General Meeting held annually in the Spring. The Annual General Meeting is advertised in a general circulation newspaper in Elgin County. Any donor who contributes $20.00 or more to the Elgin-St. Thomas United Way in the year immediately preceding the Annual General Meeting, pays a $10.00 membership fee and submits an application letter to the Board of Directors followed by a Board motion to accept or reject is entitled to one vote. Financial statements of the Elgin-St. Thomas United Way are audited annually and available upon request.
